Our mission is to develop leadership through innovation. Using New York City as their classroom, student innovators will achieve academic excellence while setting their own goals. Our community utilizes a three tiered educational model: core classroom instruction, year long Annual Individual Projects, and hands-on, experiential learning.

The Founders and Senior Staff

Nicholas Tishuk

Nicholas is the Director of Programs and Accountability at The Renaissance Charter School (TRCS). For the past six years he has worked at TRCS as a high school English teacher, the High School Coordinator of Teaching and Learning and K-12 Teacher-Leader.

Prior to working at Renaissance, he worked for a New Visions High School in the NYC Department of Education as an English Teacher. His work as a youth organizer, community activist and public school advocate has shaped his educational philosophy.

Nicholas will be the Innovation's founding principal. As the school's lead applicant, he is responsible for leading the planning team and and developing the school's charter application. He can be contacted at nicholas.tishuk @ gmail.com
